Biography
Darren Fichardt turned professional in 1994 and his breakthrough came in 1997 when he won the Bearing Man Highveld Classic by a single stroke. He would go on to win 17 more titles on the Sunshine Tour. His most successful season on Tour was the 2009 campaign which saw him winning three times that year.
Fichardt has won the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit on two occasions; first in the 1999/00 season and then again in 2003/04. Fichardt has also competed with success on the DP Word Tour over the years. Fichardt boasts five international victories including the 2001 Sao Paulo Brazil Open, the Qatar Masters in 2003 and Saint-Omer Open in 2012.
Fichardt represented South Africa in the World Cup of Golf alongside Retief Goosen in 2000. He has 99 tournament top-10 finishes to his name in what has been an illustrious career for the veteran campaigner.
