Biography
As an amateur, Lombard won several events in Africa and represented South Africa in the Eisenhower Trophy in 2012 and 2014. He turned professional late in 2014. He earned a spot in the 2016 Open Championship after a second-place finish at the Joburg Open, an Open Qualifying Series event. He made the cut and finished tied for 66th.
He claimed his maiden Sunshine Tour title at the Vodacom Origins of Golf at Zebula in 2018 after defeating Jake Roos in sudden-death. He has not won another title on the local scene but boasts 20 top-10 finishes which include second- places at Joburg Open (2016 and 2023), RAM Cape Town Open (2019) and Jonsson Workwear Open 2023.
Lombard has appeared in four Open Championship events, missing the cut twice while his best finish is that share of 66th he got in 2016.
