Biography
Dean represents the Stingers GC and a one-time winner on the LIV Golf League. He had a distinguished amateur career which included selection for his province, Free State, in the 2008 and 2009 inter-provincials. He also won the International Team Championships in 2009, and decided to turn pro the year after.
He endured a tough first season on the Sunshine Tour, but has but showed his mettle as he came second on the Big Easy Tour Championship in 2011. He steadily improved after that, and found himself inside the top 40 on the Order of Merit in 2012.
His breakthrough win came in the 2013 Polokwane Classic, and he followed that up a year later with a victory in the 2015 Sun City Challenge. But it was 2015 that was to prove decisive for Dean: He won the Golden Pilsener Zimbabwe Open to take the national open of his former homeland, and then he followed that up with three more victories to finish fourth on the Order of Merit.
