Tyrone Ryan

Tyrone took to the game of his own accord at the age of 11, and was completely self-taught throughout his junior years. He played his golf as a junior at Bryanston Country Club, and began to make a name for himself as an amateur. In 2009, he was selected for the challenge and premier Central Gauteng teams and represented them at the respective inter-provincials. But his crowning year as an amateur came in 2010, when he won both the Western Province Amateur Strokeplay and Matchplay events, the Ekhurleni Open and finished second in the SA Amateur. His reward for this was selection for South Africa, and he represented his country three times that year. After such a fantastic 2010 and a glowing amateur career, Tyrone decided it was time to turn pro, and he joined the Sunshine Tour in 2011. His biggest impact thus far has been on the Big Easy Tour, where he won at Irene CC in 2011, and in 2012 finished 11th on the Order of Merit. However, Tyrone has shown a glimpse of things to come on the Sunshine Tour as well with a top 10 finish already to his credit. Tyrone's biggest ambition is to make it onto the PGA Tour one day. He has had the privilege of playing at Muirfield, but would love to tee it up at Augusta one day. And Tyrone says that if it were in the company of Tiger Woods, Charlie Sheen and Roger Federer, it would be the cherry on top! Other than golf, Tyrone is an avid scuba diver, and prides himself on his training. He lists pizza as his favourite food, and is one of Johnny Cash's biggest fans.
